Sunday school classes for all ages are ongoing each Sunday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Our offerings are varied, and you are sure to find a class in which you can grow and learn.

 

All classes are open enrollment — you can join at any time during the year.

Adult Sunday School Opportunities

Bible 101

Examines basic Bible concepts in a verse-by-verse fun, relaxed discussion format, balancing Old Testament and New Testament study for better comprehension of the total message.

Goal:

Provide a basic understanding of the Bible and essential basic concepts. No previous Bible knowledge necessary but also a good review for lifelong Bible students.

Biblical Truths for Contemporary Discussions

Examines topical studies in a discussion-type class. Learn, be challenged, and enjoy the fellowship!

Goal:

Use Scripture and relevant commentary to understand how God wants us to respond to the ever-changing issues we face in today’s world.

Fruits of the Spirit

Our series, That the World May Know (12 volumes), focuses on the cultural, historical, and geographical context of the people of the Bible (those to whom God spoke). By understanding their world, we modern Christians will deepen our appreciation and understanding of God’s Word.

Goal:

To strengthen our relationship with the Triune God, to reach a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and to reinforce how we are to respond in today’s culture. Previous Bible knowledge helpful, not required.

Growing with Grace

Examines various books of the Bible in quarterly studies and uses RightNow Media to supplement.

Goal:

Read and study the scriptural text to learn biblical principles and apply them to our Christian walk while focusing on Jesus as the anchor and foundation of our lives and developing a deeper understanding of God’s gift of grace.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study

Meets on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 a.m.
We are currently using Alan B. Stringfellow's Through the Bible in One Year--Basic Study.
It is a Bible survey/overview of the entire
Bible, highlighting one or two books each week. Pastor Doug teaches and leads the class.
Rich Emery is the convener and coordinator for the group. Individuals are asked to prepare through daily reading and taking notes for each class. Then, Pastor Doug lectures following and expanding on the notes in the book.

Goal:
For men and women to have a deeper understanding of Scripture and how it applies to their lives.

Presbyterian Women

Groups meet monthly to study and share God’s Word, as well as support mission work locally (Healing Eagle Clinic, School Supplies, and Prayer Shawl); nationally (USO); and globally (Marion Medical Mission, Friends of Barnabas, and Inspire International). 

 

Rachel Circle meets at church on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

 

Mary Circle meets in members’ homes on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

 

Martha Circle meets at church on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
